Bill Powell, President and Chief Executive Officer

Bill oversees the overall management of Crystal River, the direction of its growth and the development of strategic business opportunities. He has over 20 years of real estate investment experience, focusing on commercial debt, structured finance and commercial real estate equity markets. Bill joined Crystal River from his former position as co-head of Brookfield Asset Management's Real Estate Financial Partners, LLC ("BREF"), where he executed over $3 billion in commercial real estate debt transactions. Prior to joining Brookfield, he served as CMBS Portfolio Manager for Prudential Investment Management. Bill received his BS in Accounting from the University of Richmond and his MBA from the Darden School of the University of Virginia.
Craig Laurie, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Craig is responsible for Crystal River’s finance and accounting activities. Prior to joining Crystal River, Craig served as Chief Financial Officer at Brookfield Properties Corporation for four years. From 1999 to 2003, Craig held the positions of Senior Vice President, Finance for Brookfield Asset Management Inc. and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Brookfield Power Corporation. Craig’s previous experience also includes spending three years in various senior management positions with Brookfield Asset Management and its affiliates. Prior to 1997, Craig was with Deloitte & Touche LLP. Craig is a Chartered Accountant and earned a BC (Honours) from Queens University, Canada.
Jon Tyras, Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Jon oversees corporate governance and regulatory practices and is also responsible for Crystal River’s legal affairs. Prior to joining the Company, he was a securities and capital markets attorney for eight years at the law firm of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, where he specialized in leveraged finance and real estate securities transactions. Jon began his career as an accountant with Ernst & Young LLP. Jon earned BSBA degrees in finance and accounting from Georgetown University and a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
